Engagement process

From first enquiry to findings memo — how a Datastreamtools reconciliation review actually runs.

A clear process keeps month-end reviews from colliding with your close calendar. This page maps the usual path for our flagship bank reconciliation review.

1

Enquiry & scoping

You send accounts, period, and any hard dates (board pack, auditor arrival). We ask about statement formats and whether prior reconciliations exist.

2

Fee confirmation

You receive a written fee range and deposit terms. Work does not start until you accept in writing and, where required, pay the deposit.

3

Access & kickoff

Secure file share or on-site attendance is arranged. We confirm a named contact for questions on open items.

4

Matching & aging

Statements are matched to the ledger. Uncleared items are aged. Material differences are listed with evidence status.

5

Findings discussion

A short call or meeting walks through exceptions before the memo is finalised, so factual errors can be corrected quickly.

6

Memo delivery

You receive the PDF pack for the close file. Remaining open items stay on your register with owners you assign.

What we need from you

Bank statements, cash ledger extract, prior reconciliations, and timely answers on known exceptions. Delays in evidence push the delivery date; we will say so early rather than silently slip.
