Bank reconciliation review
A full statement-to-ledger review for one or more bank accounts, with aged open items and a written findings memo for your close file.
Enquire about this reviewWho this is for
Controllers, finance managers, and external accountants who need an independent eye on bank reconciliations before management sign-off or statutory fieldwork. Typical clients hold trading, professional-services, or property-management ledgers with HKD operating accounts and one or more foreign-currency balances.
Result you receive
You leave with a reconciliation status pack: matched items, an aged list of uncleared entries, and a short memo describing material differences, evidence gaps, and recommended follow-up. The pack is written so your team can reuse it in the audit binder.
Scope included
- Matching bank statements to cash book / GL cash accounts for the agreed period
- Classification of timing differences (in-transit deposits, outstanding cheques, FX settlement lags)
- Aging of items open beyond your stated policy (for example 30 / 60 / 90 days)
- Spot-checks of supporting remittance advices or payment vouchers for high-value lines
- A closing discussion with your nominated contact
Out of scope
- Full statutory audit opinions
- Tax filings or profits-tax computation
- Continuous bookkeeping or payroll processing
- Reconstructing missing historical years without a separate investigation engagement
How we work
- You send a bank list, statement period, and access method (secure file share or on-site review).
- We confirm fee basis and delivery date after a short scoping call.
- Review work proceeds against statements, ledger extracts, and prior reconciliations.
- Findings are discussed; the memo is issued in PDF for your records.
Preparation
Have PDF bank statements, export of the cash ledger, prior month reconciliations, and a contact who can explain known open items. Multi-currency accounts should include FX rate sources used in the ledger.
Next step
Request a review with the accounts and period. We reply within one Hong Kong business day with questions and a fee range.
